History

Daman Products was founded in 1976 by Jack D. Davis in Mishawaka, Indiana. At that time the manifold industry was fragmented and in its infancy. Mr. Davis' idea was to standardize bar manifolds within the hydraulic industry, while fiercely defending the belief that quality sells, and that impressing the customer at every opportunity is vital to success.

These tenets have been the foundation for our growth. Today we employ nearly 100 people, and occupy 47,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space with room for expansion.

In 1998 the company adopted a new process referred to as the Focused Factory. This process transformed traditional jobs into dynamic, vital parts of an efficient organization. Systematic continuous improvement has become a reality. Through the process our people have learned new skills, and taken on more responsibility for the success of the company.

Daman in the Community

We are actively involved in national and local organizations. Our involvement is driven by the need to give back to our business and local communities. In return, we learn about our surroundings and improve our own organization.

National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) - Members of our organization volunteer their time to help advance the hydraulic industry through active participation on various boards within the NFPA that promote member learning opportunities and development of industry standards worldwide.

Fluid Power Distributors Association (FPDA) - As associate members of this national organization, we are able to stay close to the concerns and issues facing our customers.

Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) - Members of our company are active in this organization as both sharers of manufacturing knowledge, and as part of our own continuous learning process.  The AME is recognized as the leading visionary organization for manufacturing technology.

Employment Opportunities

"It is our duty to provide outstanding technological and service leadership beyond our customers' expectations so as to promote their interest, thereby ensuring continuous opportunities for our people."

This is our philosophy.  It is intertwined in our operations and thought processes, and is referred to daily when our employees are faced with difficult decisions.  Many of our people have this committed to memory.

Our Expectations

Referring back to our mission statement, "outstanding technological and service leadership" can be achieved only by maintaining a high standard for new hires. We have improved our screening process to ensure the people we hire have a reasonable opportunity to uphold our values, and are able to succeed at Daman Products.

When hiring, we are looking for people who are mature, have a desire to improve themselves, and want to become a vital part of a team-based organization that rewards performance.
